First American Names New Bank President and CEO

C. Rhodes McLanahan, II has been promoted to President and Chief Executive Officer.  Mr. McLanahan has been employed at First American for 17 years, most recently serving as the bank’s Chief Operating Officer.  He is a graduate of the University of Georgia where he earned his Bachelor of Business Administration and the Graduate School of Banking at LSU.  Mr. McLanahan takes the position of Robert (Bobby) D. Heath, who will continue to lend his 42 years of banking experience and vision as a member of the bank’s Board of Directors in his continued role of Vice Chairman and as a member of the bank’s Executive Committee.

First American Bank & Trust Gets a Brand Makeover

On September 27th, First American Bank announced a new look for their brand.


(Athens, GA.) – A makeover for First American Bank & Trust is in the works, and it’s slowly being revealed. This week, customers received a “teaser” with their statements, giving them a glimpse of the bank’s new look. Over the past year, First American has been crafting an entirely new branding and marketing campaign – one that more accurately reflects the personality of the bank and their vision for the future. “It’s an exciting time for us,” said Bobby Heath, First American Bank & Trust President and CEO. “We’ve already received a lot of positive feedback. The entire rebranding effort looks, acts and sounds like us – a strong bank with a proven commitment to its customers.”
First American Bank & Trust’s new logo, new colors and a new tagline will begin popping up in the next few weeks. “It’s a great way to highlight what we’ve always been,” added Heath. “It’s nice to know that the more things change, the more they stay the same. Our customers take comfort in knowing we’re going to serve them the same we always have, the way a hometown bank should.” The entire rebranding effort will be revealed to bank employees at an event Thursday, September 26th. The public brand launch will follow a few weeks later.
The new brand was created in partnership with Financial Marketing Solutions, the bank’s strategic marketing consultant. The brand development program will include a clarification of the bank’s values, visual style and brand communications.
